Spiritual Gifts

There are different kids of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

Amazing isn't it?

As we headed home from a unicorn-themed birthday party on Sunday afternoon, I was smiling ear-to-ear listening to my voicemail. My heart was nearly jumping out of my body in excitement and I didn't even know the whole story yet! I called Tracy back on Monday to get the full story.

Tracy is an amazingly kind woman whom I met when I was a complete disaster!! I really struggled with breastfeeding with Samson and Tracy is leads the La Leche League of Mitchell County. Her kindness, support, hugs, and availability to me during that time was an absolute gift from God. She was there as I worked my way through new motherhood and postpartum depression. A few months later, I ran into her at church and I was so excited to finally show her what my sane-self was really like! Now every time I run into her, I still feel excitement just to see her friendly smile!

She had attended mass on Saturday night and the second reading was 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. As she listened, she told me that it made her want to stand up, holler a big "AMEN!!! I'm doing that!!!!" Which I wish would have actually happened and been recorded because it would have been absolutely hilarious to see the Tipton congregation's reaction to such a thing! Just thinking about it makes me laugh out loud! She want on to tell me how she'd been rattling around the idea of becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor and finally signed up for it! That God had continuously been putting it in front of her despite all of her reasons as to why now wasn't the right time. Then she finally DID IT!! But even after she signed up, she was anxious about it until Saturday night when the reading validated her actions.

All of this excitement. All of this validation. All of this Jesus. And Tracy thought of ME? So much so that she felt compelled to call me to tell me how I've inspired her to follow her heart!! What?? Tracy - you have no IDEA how much I needed that.

God spoke to you through His word and He spoke to me through YOU!
